A Brief on Contribution Analysis
The value of contribution analysis in policy work lies in its systematic approach to dealing with complex, causal problems. Partnering with the Center for Evaluation Innovation (CEI), the design process began by carefully reviewing the content to determine not only the ideal format and structure, but the right visual tone. Once a solid typographic hierarchy was established, and all of the rules governing page layout were firmly in place, our attention shifted to the chapter openers. The dynamic political context within which advocacy occurs—a place where advocates partner, or work in parallel, with others to advance a policy agenda and counter opposition—served as inspiration for a series a simple illustrations.
